By The Window
There was a brother and sister living with their grandmother. One day, when they were playing in the yard, the boy threw a stone and it killed a duck. This duck was the grandmother's most valuable duck.
The sister, agreed to keep it quiet, only if the boy promised to do her chores.
Fearing the wrath of his grandmother, he felt he had no choice but to obey his sister. So, he did those tasks for her.
Finally, one day, he got fed up of doing his sister's chores. He decided to confess to his grandmother.
As he narrated to his grandmother, that fateful incident, tears ran down his cheeks, for he anticipated a dreadful punishment.
To his surprise, his grandmother did not punish him but said:
"The day you killed the duck, I was at the window, and I saw it happen. I was just waiting for you to tell me about it. Alas, you let this crime tie you to your sister's bidding."
God knows when we sin, He always waits for us to confess and repent, rather than letting our sins weigh us down. Though He is a God of just wrath, He is also a God whose love overlooks our sins provided we repent.
